Electricity production from wind and solar energy in China last year increased by 25% compared to the previous year, reaching 22% of total production.
According to data from the National Energy Administration of China, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period covering 2021-2025, new energy sources such as wind and solar energy developed rapidly in the country, with total installed capacity reaching 3.4 times the level at the end of 2020.
The data shows that by 2025, the country’s new renewable energy installed capacity reached 452 million kilowatts, an annual increase of 21%. In addition, it was recorded that the total installed capacity added to the system during the 14th Five-Year Plan period was 1.39 billion kilowatts.
