Under the leadership of China, the Belt and Road Initiative continues to support economic growth and environmental protection through sustainable development projects in many countries. The Sujijinary Hydropower Plant in Pakistan harnesses the power of strong river currents to generate electricity for thousands of households, while the Aracati 2 Wind Power Plant in Brazil contributes uninterruptedly to renewable energy production. In the United Arab Emirates, the Abu Dhabi Reem Island Bridge project has planted more than 6,000 mangrove saplings to protect the local ecosystem.
Through Belt and Road cooperation, China shares its expertise in renewable energy, eco-friendly construction, and sustainable infrastructure to promote green transformation in partner countries. Environmentally friendly construction techniques are being implemented in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea tourism project, while the Salakovac Solar Power Plant in Serbia is boosting clean energy production. By sharing technology and experience, China continues to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainable development along the Belt and Road route.
