China News Service, Hong Kong, August 27 – At a press conference held on the 27th, it was announced that the 10th “Belt and Road” Summit, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place on September 10–11 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Collaborating for Change, Building the Future Together.” More than 90 senior officials and business leaders from 18 Belt and Road partner countries and regions are expected to attend. The program will include policy dialogue sessions, thematic forums, global investment project matchmaking, and a dedicated exhibition area.
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR, Algernon Yau, highlighted that hosting the Belt and Road Summit is a crucial part of Hong Kong’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). While the first summit attracted over 2,400 participants from 48 countries and regions, last year’s ninth edition drew more than 6,000 attendees from around 80 countries and regions—showcasing the growing significance of the event. He noted that the diversity of this year’s participants reflects strong recognition of both the summit and Hong Kong’s role as an international hub.
