Mudassar Iqbal, a Pakistani media leader, emphasized that media outlets in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries should take concrete steps to fulfill their responsibilities and play a vital role in promoting mutual understanding and people-to-people exchanges. Iqbal highlighted that after 24 years of development, the SCO has become a comprehensive regional organization with the world’s largest population, fully demonstrating the strong vitality, cohesion, and appeal of the “Shanghai Spirit.” He stressed the need to strengthen media cooperation, especially in areas such as digitalization and personnel training.
Iqbal noted that media cooperation between Pakistan and China has deepened in recent years and that the media organizations of SCO countries will elevate mutual learning among civilizations to a new level through closer collaboration. He emphasized the importance of advancing big data analysis techniques and encouraged involving young journalists and content creators in cultural exchange initiatives. Expressing his pleasure at attending the SCO Media and Think Tank Summit during his first visit to China, Iqbal said the event provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen China-Pakistan ties and contribute to regional cooperation and development.
