President of Pakistan Arif Alvi emphasized the significance of Pakistan-China relations in bringing stability to a world marked by constant change. He lauded the Belt and Road Initiative for showcasing a path of cooperation and mutual development, facilitating the movement of goods and people while fostering international trade and sustainable development.
Alvi highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China, rooted in the spirit of peace and cooperation. In an interview with Chinese media, he underscored the unwavering support the two countries offer each other in protecting fundamental interests and resolving crises together. He emphasized their commitment to solving problems and extending assistance in times of need.
In the context of a changing global landscape, Alvi noted ongoing conflicts in various regions and efforts by some Western nations to impede the growth of emerging economies. He advocated for a multipolar world order that prioritizes people’s progress and trade continuity, rather than being dictated by the rules of victors. Alvi praised initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative for focusing on people’s development, promoting stability, and fostering healthy livelihoods.
Alvi expressed gratitude for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), highlighting its role in advancing Pakistan’s infrastructure, human resources, energy, and industrial sectors. He appreciated China’s loans provided without conditions.
Anticipating increased cooperation with China, particularly in information technologies, agriculture, and vehicle manufacturing, Alvi envisioned significant progress as the CPEC enters a new phase of high-quality development. He highlighted China’s expertise in areas such as agricultural production and artificial intelligence, expressing Pakistan’s desire to participate.
Alvi extended warm greetings and good wishes to the Chinese people on the occasion of the upcoming Chinese New Year, expressing his sentiments in Chinese, “Happy Spring Festival, happy Year of the Dragon,” on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan.
