The Chinese Embassy in Vientiane hosted a reception on Wednesday to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival. The event brought together guests from various sectors in Laos and China, creating a joyful festive atmosphere.
Speaking at the reception, Chinese Ambassador to Laos Fang Hong extended her New Year greetings and highlighted the success of the Chinese New Year and Laos’ Lamvong dance being added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in 2024. Fang also reflected on the progress made in China-Laos cooperation in 2024 and emphasized the importance of further enhancing friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
The event featured cultural performances by students and teachers from the National University of Laos. Guests enjoyed a variety of performances, including songs, dances, and the face-changing art of Sichuan Opera.
