The number of manufacturing companies registered on the domestic stock exchange in China was 3,608 by the end of 2023. According to data from the China Public Enterprises Association, manufacturing companies accounted for approximately 67 percent of the 5,346 companies registered on the domestic stock exchange by the end of 2023. The vast majority of companies in China mainly operated in manufacturing, information transmission, software, information technology services, wholesale and retail.
It was reported that 2,263 companies were registered on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, 2,844 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and 239 on the Beijing Stock Exchange.
