On November 14, Peru’s Chancay Port began operations under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This project, dubbed the “New Inca Road,” aims to boost regional trade and economic growth by directly linking Latin America to China. Through this route, Peru’s products will be able to reach Shanghai seamlessly, accelerating international trade.
On the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative’s launch, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that this initiative promotes high-quality development cooperation. He highlighted the importance of achieving sustainable and inclusive development goals, stating that the Belt and Road Initiative strengthens global ties for shared prosperity.
Since its inception in 2013, China’s Belt and Road Initiative has led to significant infrastructure projects in numerous countries. These projects not only promote economic growth but also enhance domestic transportation and logistics networks. In particular, investments along land and sea routes have facilitated faster trade with many countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America. Under Xi Jinping’s leadership, China’s global strategy has become more comprehensive, achieving many key successes with the aim of “high-quality” development.
Within the Belt and Road Initiative, China has not only focused on infrastructure construction but also created cooperation opportunities in environmental sustainability and digital technologies. New projects such as the “Green Silk Road” and “Digital Silk Road” aim to address global issues like climate change and the digital economy. These collaborations seek to support global economic growth and strengthen shared development goals.
The Belt and Road Initiative is not only increasing China’s international influence but also deepening trade and cultural ties with other countries, contributing to the construction of a brighter future for humanity.
