Harbin Ice and Snow World, located in Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China, set a new record by welcoming over 3 million visitors just 52 days after the opening of its 26th edition. This year’s park was built using 300,000 cubic meters of ice and snow and features elaborate ice structures inspired by the 9th Asian Winter Games held in Harbin.
In addition to its stunning ice sculptures, the park offers interactive winter attractions such as a snowflake ice maze, ice rinks, and more than 20 smaller ice slides. Visitors have noted that the ice sculptures shimmer like crystals during the day, and at night, vibrant lighting transforms the park into a winter wonderland.
Previously, the park covered 800,000 square meters, but it has expanded to 1 million square meters this year, marking the largest area in its 26-year history. Once known for economic challenges, the region is now being revitalized by ice and snow tourism. China aims to boost its ice and snow economy as a new source of growth, with increased investments planned in line with its 2027 and 2030 targets.
