The “Belt and Road” and BRICS Countries Technology Innovation and International Cooperation Forum was held in Beijing on March 30, bringing together government officials, international scholars, experts, leaders from top global companies, and representatives of international organizations from BRICS nations and Belt and Road partner countries. More than 200 participants from Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Singapore, Indonesia, Iran, Bolivia, and China attended the forum.
As one of the parallel sessions of the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum, the event was organized by the BRICS Business Council China Chapter, the Belt and Road and BRICS International Talent Development Alliance, and the China Invention Association. Recognized as a significant step in implementing the BRICS Kazan Declaration, the forum revolved around the theme “Belt and Road and BRICS Technology Cooperation for Sustainable Development in New Industry and Productivity.” It featured five keynote speeches and four specialized sessions, culminating in the announcement of three major international cooperation achievements.
The announced cooperation outcomes included: the launch of the BRICS Technology Platform and the establishment of the “BRICS+ Countries Science and Technology Innovation Alliance”, the designation of the BRICS Workshop as an international training center for future technology skills and cultural exchange between China and South Africa, and the initiation of the BRICS+ Countries Future Skills and Innovation Technology Talent Development Project.
