The 2025 Belt and Road Journalists Forum was held on July 19 in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, China. Nearly one hundred leaders of journalist organizations and media representatives from over 50 countries and regions gathered to discuss the theme “Power of News, Dialogue Among Civilizations, and Promoting World Modernization.” The forum was jointly organized by the All-China Journalists Association and the Propaganda Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee. Wang Gang, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, delivered the opening speech.
Participants emphasized that in the face of growing global uncertainties, media organizations should uphold principles of equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness to build a diverse and multi-dimensional global network for dialogue and cooperation among civilizations. He Ping, president of the All-China Journalists Association, highlighted that the media should contribute to world modernization by promoting peace, development, cooperation, and shared human values. During the forum, the “International Journalists’ Home” volunteer program was launched, with journalist organizations from 11 countries receiving certificates. Delegates also engaged in field visits to various cities, while China-Latin America and China-EU journalists’ roundtable meetings were held, along with discussions on current topics such as artificial intelligence.
