On August 21, the 6th Xinjiang “Belt and Road” Cross-Regional Cooperation and Innovation Annual Conference was held in Urumqi, bringing together representatives from more than 30 Chinese cities and Central Asian countries in the fields of science and technology. With the theme “Carrying Forward the Silk Road Spirit, Empowering an Innovative Future,” the event witnessed the signing of 83 cooperation projects covering industry, technology, and talent development. Among them, 69 were signed domestically within China, while 14 involved Central Asian countries. In addition, new cooperation agreements were concluded with science and technology institutions in Kunming, Hohhot, Haikou, and Lhasa, further expanding the regional cooperation network.
The conference also unveiled an overseas incubation center in Bishkek, alongside cooperation centers in four Chinese cities, all of which received plaques. During the event, 33 cities jointly released the “2025 Declaration on Deepening Belt and Road Cross-Regional Cooperation,” while Urumqi published a demand list of 872 items covering industry, technology, and talent. Forty project roadshows focusing on areas such as biomedicine and equipment manufacturing were held, with 680 participants engaging in face-to-face discussions. Officials highlighted that the 83 signed projects will accelerate the commercialization of innovation achievements and promote more tangible and sustainable cross-regional cooperation.
