The 2025 Belt and Road International Snow Volleyball Tournament began on February 23 at the Tianshan Tianchi International Ski Resort in Fukang, China. The four-day tournament features 14 teams from countries such as Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, France, and Türkiye, as well as from China’s Xinjiang, Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia regions.
The opening ceremony included traditional drum performances, adding a cultural touch to the event. Daniel Petrov, a player from the French men’s team, highlighted the growing competition each year as more teams participate. He expressed satisfaction with the professional organization, favorable weather conditions, and excellent facilities.
Throughout the tournament, various cultural activities—including traditional dances, handicraft exhibitions, and regional cuisine tastings—create a vibrant atmosphere where sports and culture come together.
As the tournament progresses, teams are giving their best performances, competing fiercely for the championship title. The organizing committee emphasized that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure optimal conditions for the athletes and the smooth execution of the event.
This year’s abundant natural snowfall and favorable weather conditions have provided a much better playing environment compared to previous years. Additionally, the cultural events and local promotions held during the tournament have captivated both athletes and spectators. Officials emphasized that such events play a crucial role in strengthening cultural and sporting ties among Belt and Road countries.
