Xi’an now has a direct air route to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The new flight route officially launched on Sunday, February 23.
With a history of over 3,100 years, Xi’an is home to the famous Terracotta Warriors and numerous historical landmarks. The city served as the capital of 13 dynasties in Chinese history. This new air route will provide greater convenience for tourists traveling to Kuala Lumpur, Shaanxi, and the picturesque Yunnan region, while also serving as an important bridge for economic and cultural exchanges.
This international flight route marks the first international departure from Terminal 5 of Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, which began operations last Thursday.
Since November 2023, China has continuously updated its visa policies to enhance international openness and promote cultural exchanges. Last year, more than 20.1 million foreign visitors entered China under the visa exemption policy, representing a 113.5% year-on-year increase.
