Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the capital Brasilia. During the meeting, Lula highlighted the strong mutual trust and deepened cooperation between Brazil and China, noting that the relationship serves as an example of South-South cooperation. Lula expressed his desire to further expand cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, finance, and energy.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China’s commitment to implementing the key agreements reached by the two leaders. He stated that China will continue to strengthen its cooperation with Brazil and other BRICS and Global South countries, advocating multilateralism and safeguarding international rules. Lula also praised China’s firm response to unilateral tariffs, calling it a just action that has received widespread support from the international community.
