Chinese Premier Li Qiang stated on Wednesday that China is ready to expand economic and trade exchanges with the Netherlands based on the principle of mutual benefit. During a phone call with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Li highlighted that under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders, China-Netherlands relations have developed steadily and rapidly in recent years, with cooperation in various fields continuously expanding and bringing tangible benefits to both peoples.
China is prepared to maintain close communication with the new Dutch government and work together to sustain the positive momentum in the development of bilateral relations. Li emphasized that openness and pragmatism are valuable lessons drawn from the growth of China-Netherlands relations. He expressed China’s willingness to continue fostering close high-level exchanges, strengthening dialogue and communication, and consolidating political mutual trust to provide a solid foundation for the development of bilateral ties.
Schoof remarked that China plays an increasingly important role in global affairs and that the Netherlands attaches great importance to its relations with China. Bilateral ties, particularly in economic and trade cooperation, have shown robust growth. Schoof reaffirmed that the Dutch government firmly adheres to the One-China policy and recognizes the People’s Republic of China as the sole legal government representing all of China.
