Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang held separate meetings on Tuesday with several foreign delegates who came to China to attend the Second Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange, held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
During his meeting with Marina Ragus, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ding said that China is willing to work with Serbia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, support each other’s core interests, deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and turn sci-tech innovation cooperation into a new growth driver for bilateral relations. Ragus stated that Serbia highly values its friendship with China, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and is ready to expand cooperation in investment, economy and trade, and science and technology to build a shared future between the two countries.
Ding also met with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ramatov Achilbay Jumaniyazovich and Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin. He expressed China’s readiness to enhance political trust and strategic cooperation with both countries, promote sci-tech collaboration, and expand substantive cooperation under the Belt and Road framework.
Ramatov affirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to strengthening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. Afshin emphasized Iran’s desire to deepen cultural and scientific ties with China and make further progress in implementing the China-Iran Comprehensive Cooperation Plan.
