Reuters characterized his reception at Sichuan University as creating “a rock star effect,” while the French newspaper Le Monde noted that Macron resembled “a rock star more than a politician amid the enthusiastic cheers of young students.” France 24 and AFP likewise featured segments highlighting moments from the campus visit.
