Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that the cooperation between Russia and China has made important contributions to the development of BRICS countries. Responding to a question from Xinhua, Zakharova emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries is constructive in nature and not directed at any third party. She noted that this partnership has created favorable conditions for the stable and sustained growth of BRICS economies and significantly contributed to building a more just, balanced, and multipolar world order.
Zakharova said that at a time when the global geopolitical landscape is undergoing major shifts, the “comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era” between Russia and China continues to thrive, showing strong adaptability and resilience to rapidly changing external conditions.
The spokesperson also added that BRICS countries are willing to listen to the voices of many countries around the world and help them achieve their development goals. According to Zakharova, the core aim of the BRICS mechanism is to strengthen the role of developing countries and emerging markets within the global multilateral system.
