BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — The 7th China–Russia Energy Business Forum convened on Tuesday in Beijing. At the opening ceremony, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang delivered President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory message and outlined three proposals aimed at further deepening bilateral energy cooperation.
Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, emphasized China’s readiness to work with Russia to implement the key consensuses reached by the two heads of state, continuously strengthen strategic cooperation in the energy sector, and expand new avenues for win–win collaboration.
He advanced three recommendations for enhancing China–Russia energy cooperation. First, he called for reinforcing full-chain cooperation to ensure the secure and stable operation of cross-border energy corridors and the smooth flow of bilateral energy trade. Second, he stressed the need to advance cooperation on energy transition, explore application scenarios, and unlock potential in fields such as renewable energy. Third, he urged both sides to jointly promote the implementation of the Global Governance Initiative in the energy sector and bolster multilateral cooperation to bring greater stability and predictability to global energy markets.
Igor Sechin, Executive Secretary of the Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security under the Russian President and CEO of Rosneft, delivered President Vladimir Putin’s congratulatory message. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak also addressed the ceremony.
Following the opening session, Ding held meetings with the senior Russian delegation. The forum further discussed enhancing high-level strategic alignment to consolidate the comprehensive China–Russia energy partnership. Approximately 400 representatives from both countries attended the opening.
