By 2024, Jilin Province, a key gateway in northern China, reached a foreign trade volume of 176.4 billion yuan, marking a 5.1% growth. Partnerships under the “Belt and Road” initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries are the main markets for Jilin’s foreign trade.
Jilin, renowned worldwide for its advanced automotive and high-speed train production capabilities, boasts a strong industrial infrastructure. In 2024, the province’s exports grew by 8%, reaching 67.7 billion yuan, while imports rose by 3.4%, totaling 108.7 billion yuan.
Trade with “Belt and Road” partners increased by 8.8%, reaching 97.4 billion yuan, while trade with RCEP countries grew by 12.9%. Jilin’s main export items include machinery, electrical products, and high-tech goods.
The Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce plans to enhance the region’s presence in international markets by participating in key overseas trade fairs and developing new projects targeting emerging markets. The department aims to implement various strategic projects in countries like Germany, Uzbekistan, Japan, and Korea.
