Kırmızı Kedi, one of Istanbul’s leading publishing houses, has partnered with China’s largest bookstore chain, Xinhua Bookstore, to open a special section in its Istanbul stores dedicated to books promoting Chinese culture. This initiative aims to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries through literature.
Haluk Hepkon, owner of Kırmızı Kedi, stated, “This partnership is significant in terms of strengthening cultural ties between our countries. Today, we have turned this vision into reality.” In June, Kırmızı Kedi will feature books introducing Turkish culture at Xinhua’s stores in Beijing.
Yuan Hu, Deputy General Manager of Xinhua Bookstore’s Headquarters, noted that the newly established “Chinese Culture Corner” in Istanbul holds great importance in helping Turkish readers discover Chinese culture through books. Hu also expressed his pleasure that Kırmızı Kedi’s books will be available in stores across China. Over the past year, Kırmızı Kedi has hosted numerous literary events bringing together Chinese and Turkish authors.
