Chinese President Xi Jinping raised a four-point proposal for building a new security architecture in the Middle East during his talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, emphasizing a vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security.
To promote regional security, Xi called for unleashing internal drivers, advancing an integrated approach, cementing the development foundation, and enhancing international coordination. He stressed that people in the Middle East should remain masters of their own affairs while rejecting external interference, noting that the Palestinian issue remains at the core of the Middle East question and should never be marginalized. Xi also urged the international community and external powers to abandon double standards, respect regional sovereignty, and uphold the UN Charter. President Sisi stated that Egypt highly appreciates China’s impartial stance and is ready to strengthen coordination with China to ease tensions and safeguard regional stability.
