Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo, calling on both nations to support each other and advance a China-Egypt community with a shared future. Marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties, the two leaders witnessed the signing of over 20 cooperation agreements spanning the Belt and Road initiative, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and infrastructure.
During the discussions, Xi raised a four-point proposal for building a new security architecture in the Middle East based on common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security. He stressed that regional peoples must remain masters of their own affairs, external interference must be rejected, the Palestinian issue must not be marginalized, and development must serve as the foundation for lasting peace. President Sisi expressed appreciation for China’s impartial stance and reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to strengthen multilateral coordination with China to safeguard regional stability.
