On March 21, the China-Europe freight train X8489, loaded with electronic products, machinery parts, and chemical goods, departed from Xi’an International Port Station, heading to Poland. This journey marks the milestone of Xi’an’s China-Europe freight train operations exceeding 1,000 trips in 2025. Since the beginning of the year, the number of train services from Xi’an has seen strong growth, with an average of over 14 departures per day. Every 100 minutes, a China-Europe freight train either departs from or arrives at Xi’an International Port Station, demonstrating the significant improvements in railway transportation organization.
The increasing number of China-Europe freight train services highlights the efficiency gains in railway logistics and contributes to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. As a major logistics hub in western China, Xi’an plays a crucial role in facilitating smooth and efficient trade between China and Europe. Regular and frequent train services enhance connectivity and strengthen economic ties between the two regions.
