Co-hosted by the Chinese Athletics Association, Chongqing Municipal Sports Bureau, and the Changshou District People’s Government, the 3rd Belt and Road Athletics Invitational will be held from May 14 to 16 at the Chongqing Changshou Sports Center. It will be held alongside the third leg of the 2025 National Athletics Grand Prix. With significant upgrades in scale, organization, event categories, and supporting activities, this year’s event promises to be a world-class sporting feast for track and field enthusiasts and spectators around the globe.
Top athletes from over 20 countries—including Japan, Oman, Nigeria—as well as Hong Kong and Macau will participate, bringing the total number of competitors to over 1,200. Elite Chinese athletes, including Asian Games champions and national record holders, will also compete. Beyond sports, the event will feature a culturally rich opening ceremony blending “Bayu Culture” and Changshou’s local heritage, aiming to promote international sports and cultural exchange and boost Chongqing’s global visibility through online broadcasts and multilingual promotion across Belt and Road countries.
