The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), held from November 5-10 in Shanghai, has Egyptian businesses gearing up to explore opportunities in China’s vast market. Among the attendees is Linah Farms, a top producer of Medjool dates, which exported over 150 tons to China last year and aims to secure more deals at the expo.
Another participant, the Egyptian Swiss Group, plans to export wheat flour, pasta, and tomato paste. They produce 45,000 tons of wheat flour, 8,000 tons of pasta, and 3,000 tons of tomato paste monthly, with 75% designated for export.
Egypt’s pavilion, organized by the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA), spans 230 square meters and hosts seven companies, covering agricultural products, food, handicrafts, and services. The EECA chairman highlighted CIIE as a vital gateway for Egyptian products into one of the world’s largest markets.
