On the morning of March 26, a cargo ship departed from Shanghai, bound for Qassim Port in Saudi Arabia. Carrying approximately 40,000 tons of cargo, the shipment is part of a large-scale energy project aimed at contributing to infrastructure development. As an initiative under the Belt and Road framework, this transport strengthens international cooperation while supporting Saudi Arabia’s energy infrastructure.
Along with gas turbines, various heavy equipment will also be delivered to the region. The project, which includes the construction of a power plant, will significantly enhance Saudi Arabia’s energy system and improve electricity supply security. At the same time, this initiative highlights China’s industrial diversity and technical capacity, further strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
To ensure a smooth process, authorities planned ahead to expedite logistics and customs procedures. Upon the ship’s arrival at the port, relevant agencies coordinated efficiently to complete inspections in a short time. This timely shipment contributes to the development of regional cooperation and trade.
